Charity of the Year – Devon and Cornwall Food Action

We are excited to have partnered with Devon and Cornwall Food Action, a local charity striving to eradicate food poverty in Plymouth, Devon and Cornwall, for our 2024 charity events. We have kicked off this partnership with a visit and a bake sale.

Our staff voted to support Devon and Cornwall Food Action this year for our charity events. As they are a local charity based a five-minute walk from our site, we went to see their base of operations and invited them to have a tour of Plessey. We also discussed different ways we can support them, along with any fundraising activities.

We kicked off our events this year on 29th February with a bake sale – celebrating the extra day by treating ourselves and helping others. We had bakes from 11 staff members from across the business, and staff were able to come and choose from the range of baked goods on offer – cakes, cookies, flapjacks, and rocky road, to name a few! Not only were our staff happy with the delicious treats, they kindly donated a total of £265!

We look forward to continuing our partnership going forward, and being able to support this great cause.
